So, currently this morning I've managed to not only drop my (mostly-empty) mug of tea on my carpet, but, while getting out the only cleaning stuff I have that really handles tea stains, I dropped a drinking glass on my kitchen floor. Where it shattered. Right next to my bare foot. Keep in mind, this was within the space of about 10 minutes.

I am this close to working from home today in my PJs. (Except I need to find a better IDL programming book to borrow so I can learn the language, because anything that requires image manipulation in astronomy uses IDL. ::is going to order one using leftover birthday money from B&N, but needs something now as well::)

Yes, I'm still home. Current plan is to go into work for the afternoon. And go out for sushi, since I have $20 worth of change and a desire to improve the mood I'm in.

Downloaded two alternate 'creative writing programs' -- basically a word processor with bells and whistles designed to help you write, like keeping track of multiple files (one for chapters, one for notes, one for your outline), etc. The downside is that they are free trials, so I have to see if the bells and whistles are worth $30. (At least trying out the programs will get me to write instead of playing Pokemon -- whee, I'm on my sixth Gym badge and have nearly seen 100 Pokemon)

I think I need to reinstall the OS on my old iMac again. What I really need to do is take it to the computer repair place since it seems to be unable to hold down an operating system for more than 6 months. I dunno what it is -- the hard drive is only 2 1/2 years old, even if the computer itself is about 6 years old. Maybe it can go with my laptop (which needs a new case -- I'd do it myself but it involves at least 30 screws, and taking out everything inside the case and putting it back in). Downside to that is that

Part of me is wondering if I should start archiving my work at fanfiction.net and MediaMiner again. Granted, I left for a reason (ff.net never had anything worth reading, and it ate my files, and MediaMiner mods and I had a disagreement on BNFs, and I decided that if I didn't want to support them, I should take my business elsewhere) -- on the other hand, I like having my work read and it's one of the only ways to fight ff.net's '90% of the fic was written by people who don't know better or should know better'. Man, I fail at boycotts.
