beccastareyesDay 09 - The most believable relationship? Kaylee/Simon
Okay, it helped that Kaylee immediately grabbed me by the lapels and yanked me into wanting to be her friend. I guess because she was sweet and sincere and crazy-talented and knew what she wanted in her life -- friends, an awesome spaceship, and a cute guy who respected her. Simon also grew on me as well -- a bit uptight and out of his element, but a decent guy.
And, the show did a good job at convincing me that Simon and Kaylee really did work together as crewmates, friends and as a couple. They did culture-clash a lot, with the fact Simon was... well, out of his element... but they worked through things slowly. And, I will say one plus for Firefly's 13-episode plus movie run, it's that it meant that Joss couldn't string people along about their relationship for seasons. (I don't know if he would, but he didn't.)
I was this close to picking Wash and Zoe as well, because it was nice to see a married couple in a show where both people were awesome and loved each other and actually resembled a real married couple.
