Aug. 26th, 2003 11:34 amI think I have the fifteen hiragana we learned today (a, i, u, e, o, ka, ki, ku, ke, ko, sa, shi, su, se, so) memorized... at least I can recognize them. Can't quite do recall yet. But, not bad for learning them today. Ogawa-sensei seemed to find the book mnemonics pretty funny -- you know, the 'I'm not sure about these, but, hey, if they help'
Wonder what it's like to have to learn the Roman alphabet from Hiragana? Heck, as a native speaker, I know spelling in English is frightening... I respect any non-native speaker (especially those not used to the Roman alphabet) who can spell.
