Sep. 23rd, 2003 04:59 pmIf another Astronomy 103 student asks me about their Celestial Sphere project, I am going to force feed it to them. I'd rather be grading Astronomy 204 papers -- I have two weeks' worth and dr. leung is due back soon.
The three TA's -- AJ, Cece and me -- were working late grading the damn things and we were late for our Interstellar Medium class. Dr. Gaskell looked up as we entered, and just said "I have a question about Celestial Spheres..." and got three groans (well, two groans and a velied death threat) from us.
AJ is thinking about starting a UNL Astronomy Club for fun -- you know, to show people astronomy can be fun, and to keep people from losing interest because of 103 or 204 -- apparently Drs. Lee and Leung do a damn good job of alienating people. And Dr. Lee said we could even get funding from him -- various 'soft money' grants he has, plus UNL's money for official clubs, plus any fundraising we do. All of you Lincolnites on my LJ friends list are coming, right?
I got elected Society for Physics Students Secretary/Treasurer -- I was secretary last year, the treasurer never showed up to meetings, and no one else wanted the job.
