Dec. 26th, 2003 12:14 amSomeone take away my internet, because buying roleplaying books on Amazon is far too easy. No, I haven't bought any... well, recently. But I just got the core book for Star Wars d20 and I am excited. I am on a GMing high, which means I have campaign ideas flying through my head (both for a Star Wars game and for the online game) and I am forgetting how much I loathe responsibility. Plus, I might actually get a serious game for once -- my problem is that most of the gamers at UNL won't touch anything if it's not Palladium, d20 or World of Darkness (and we have a unwritten agreement that, because of The Twink That Shall Not Be Named, we shall not play WoD (though I'd like to see TTTSNBN in a Changeling game)) and my friends tend to be very unserious gamers -- or rather, most can go either way, but
uncreativity has told me she will not play serious unless it's Mafia or Judeo-Christian mythology. Not that I don't mind the occassional metaphorical beer-and-pretzels game, but I want something epic. I want to be able to tell stories about the wodnerful plots I set up... I want to leave my players wiht the sensation that their characters really accomplished something beyond sleeping with half of Shadow River and teaching the necromancer a spell that let her spot the sexuality of passerby.
So, anyways, guess who now wants to buy the Jedi sourcebook and the Dark Jedi sourcebook and the Hero sourcebook, with a bunch of presitge classes, and the Alien book, even though getting any of her players to play non-humans,with the exception of
alanna82, who will probably play an Ewok or other cute-fuzzy or something and maybe
manos74 or
mirisa_arduna, who have played non-humans on occasion and I suppose
lasafarafett, might, considering her last Star Wars character was an Ewok starfighter pilot...
Anyways, I'm going to bed to hope that, even with the manga (Yay Slayers book 3! Yay .hack book 2! Yay I forgot to check about Dragon Knights!), I can keep it to only a bit over the $50 my aunt gave me.
