I learned two things.

One is that just because it's sunny outside does not mean that it won't be frickin cold.

Two is that you know what they say about going grocery shopping when your hungry? It applies to going art supply shopping when you are feeling creative.

Why is it my writing muse only acts up when I have fifty million things to do -- like now. *stares at internship applications and the massive amount of coding she has to do*

I'm looking at doujinshi auctions on eBay...

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] uncreativity, I found your Escaflowne ship-du-jour!!

Why do yaoi doujinshi make one member of the pairing look like a woman? *stares at uke-fied Tidus* I thought the whole point was to see men with men.

I don't know why, but Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter doujinshi cracks me up. *finds an Isulder/Elrond one* Wow... here's to obscure characters....

*finds a Pokemon/Tenchi Muyo/Final Fantasy 7 corssover* o.O

I want!

A bit of a rant...

This is Phillee. She is one of the characters in my comic. She is female. She is also an alien -- note the freakish skin and hair colors, the gills, and the webbed fingers. Her type of aliens happens to not be mammals (depsite the hair -- her species does not have mammary glands). Note that this means she has no breasts. None. She makes Lina Inverse look like Naga the White Serpent. I say as much on my drawing guide, and I am very careful to never draw her with them -- though it can be hard to tell, as she tends to wear several layers of clothing over her torso. I am more likely to slip up and forget her gills/webbing.

I have yet to get a fanart from someone who is not a RL friend that reflects this. It annoys me.

Hopefully someone will get the punchline of the joke I made a few weeks ago in my comic -- the group was visiting the stereotypical man-hating amazon-esque city, with the (only) male hero in drag. The guards stop them at the gate, claiming they have a male with them. Instead of signalling out the male hero, they point to Phillee -- who is very quick to assert her gender. (I swear the girl studied with Team Rocket at the quick-costume-change technique).

I know it's just because she is female, and, other than that, she has a female body -- narrow shoulders and wide hips.
