Today and Yesterday
Mar. 27th, 2004 07:42 pmYesterday meant a personal record for me -- I saw 6 planets and 9 moons in one night with my own eyes.
I really like helping on Public Nights. Mainly because people really like astronomy. You show them Jupiter or Saturn or the moon, and people just get so awed. Even if it is just a small telescope -- and I was working the 8-inch Scmidt-Cassigran, not the big 30-in research telescope in the dome at Behlen Observatory.
I went clothes shopping with my mother this morning, then out to lunch. I don't like clothes shopping alone, so I won't go unless someone invites me to. Mom was surprised I had finally started developing opinions and tastes on my own -- some of which disagreed with hers.
Clothing shopping for me is not fun. Thanfully this year straight skirts are NOT in style -- someone with prominent hips should not try to wear straight skirts. Tops are a problem, though, especially if they go past the waist. I usually have a choice between something that makes me look like a flat-chested kid or the smaller size, which is tight across the hips. And, either with a skirt makes my waist go bye-bye, which is a veyr bad thing when you are a very bottom-heavy person. Shoes are also fun, as I have long and narrow feet, so finding a pair that I do not walk out of is a blast.
Just did a lot of mod duty for Sea of Chaos -- reminded a player to post, and had to boot two players for not posting -- technically one sent me an e-mail apologizing and leaving, so I know there's no hard feelings. I know how real life can eat up all of one's time, and I would be glad to have her back. The other... well, ignoring all of the warning e-mails I sent means I'm not well-disposed to her -- especially since I believe they all made it to her. So, if any of you people out in LJ-land feel like taking on Zelgadis Greywords or Neena Mercury in a message board RP, drop me a line.
Anyways, I had some fannish thoguths, but they have flown out of my head. I trhink I will comic until 11, then write fanfic for an hour.
