They exist in real life too...
Aug. 2nd, 2004 09:52 pmSick of dealing wiht fandom stupidity on the net? Well, it doesn't get better as you move into the Real World.
Mom was telling me about a coworker of hers. Said coworker would do the bare minimum to get her job (she's the office receptionist) done. She usually screws up anythign but the simpliest task. She slakcs off noticably when the boss isn't around -- basically she leaves early, and covers it by not taking a lunch (something that is against the workplace's policy). And it's not even like she has the 'Screw the University -- I just want to get paid attitude' -- she genuinly seems to think she is doing a good job. When she gets bad performance reviews, she gets angry and blames everyoen but herself.
My mother says she could possibly like this person as a person, but she's hell to work with. And I think of badficcers, except this woman is probably odl enough to be the vast majority of fandom's mother.
