Okay, so I reviewed a Mary Sue author in the Fruits Basket fandom, basically giving a constructive review of her story -- in additon to the Sue, she just had a very unpolished style -- her fic was nearly all dialogue in places -- it was like heads talking in space -- and she had problems picking a POV/tense and sticking wiht it. Reminded me a lot of how I wrote in high school. So, I reviewed. And, the next day I got a miffed email that basically wanted to know:
1) If I was going to find problems in her fic, why not give her detailsas having a negative review on her list bothered her.
2) If her original character was a Mary Sue, then well, so must a lot of the OCs in the fandom (which is true)
3) I shouldn't only review one chapter in the hour before class.
I explained that my review left off a bunch of things because I had gotten cut off by the character cap we have up on mm.org now (to keep the spammers down) and I thought that filling up multiple reviews would be rude, and that, time permitting, I would be willing to read the rest of her fic.
So, now she wants me tofinish reading and offer somme advice on dialogue. I swear, I have flame-proof armor.
