(no subject)

Went to the dentist and got that weird hurty loose feeling in my teeth from too much poking and a clean bill of health -- my wisdom teeth are looking good and I have no cavities. My sister's birthday was today -- we're celebrating tomorrow, though, at Valentinos wtih real-live Nebraskan pizza. I also got honounoaizou's card.

I ahve actually found a character in a book that I activly dislike. A viewpoint character, even. Basically the character is a misogynist pundit whose attitudes can be best summaries by the quote that (paraphrasing) 'he unites science and religion because both sides want him dead.' Admittedly, it is portrayed as a talented writer and very good at playing the crowd's sympathies. But he and another character just wrecked the landing party's last lander while they are finishing up a dig on a world about to get torn up by a rogue gas giant, and he, unliek the other character (who had been flying the thing), had the good fortune to survive the landing. I hope something that makes me giggle in irony happens by the end of the book. PReferably in a way that redeems the reputation of one of the other characters, which the pundit managed to ruin by pinnign the blame for a failed exploration mission to that same planet on him.
