So, I forgot that my sneakers have the lovely tendancy to leak blue dye when wet. So now not only do I have another pair of socks with blue spots on them, but my right big toe, left little toe, and left heel are now blue.
I managed to get to the mall, Hobbytown, Barnes and Noble and Dick Blick today. It was a nice walk in the rain -- I got off the bus at the mall, then got on again near the graveyard. For reference to non-Lincolnites, we're on a grid system -- the mall's between 60th and 66th streets more or less, Hobbytown's on 66th, Barnes and Noble's on 50th and Dick Blick's on 46th, and the buss stop was about 43rd. So I probably walked at least a mile. ^_^ Probably could have walked home (I live on 17th) too -- one thing I'm worried about is that when I get my liscence I won't be able to walk like this when I have the time. I walked everywhere in Laramie, because I didn't have a choice, and I wish I did more of that in Lincoln. Or biycling. Well, maybe when the weather's good.
Anyways, on my trip out, I boosted my dice collection (I lose everythign but d10s -- probably a signal that I need to start finding White Wolf games that do not suck (I like Exalted but was pretty meh towards the one session of Vampire I sat in on -- problem is, here everyone I know plays Vampire if they play White Wolf)). I also bought a USB port (that looks like one of those proximity minds from Super Smash Brothers, complete with the glowy light) and found out that Radio Shack doens't carry the adapter for my CD biurner that I need. Which means contacting the company to see if the adaptor would be cheaper than getting a new burner. I also bought an Anatomy for Artists book, which means I will be practicing figures. I drooled a bit over the Prismacolor pencils at Dick Blick, but $35 for 48 was too expensive for me, and I couldn't use the 40% off coupon I had, since they were already on sale from the $40 they normally cost.
