I actually updated my webcomic. Go me.

I just realized that I have evening classes on the eve of the Star Wars premiere. Which means I probably shouldn't bother to get a real costume together, as the whole point of wearing one is to be seen at the theater in it.

Of course, I still shall bring my cloak. Because I can.

For those of you who don't know, I've had a waterbed since I was a kid. I've only once had a problem with it (I have two cats, one of which used to sleep at the foot of my bed -- I'll let you draw the obvious conclusion as to what eventually happened.). Well, until today.

Yesterday I was searching for a missing computer part and decided to look behind my bed. I didn't find it (but did find two gaming books I have since replaced and some dice -- the part was actually on my nightstand), but did manage to jar a side of the box my waterbed rests on loose(I have a plywood box that supports the box spring, which supports a matress filled with a bag of water -- it's nice since it's essentially a ery heavy normal matress and doesn't need a heater). I didn't think anything of it until about 6AM this morning when I was jarred into wakefullness by the fact that my right half was lower than my left. It seems my unrestful sleep had shifted the weight enough to cause the bed to tilt towards the floor on the missing side of the box. I discovered that I could right it via my weight and decided to deal with it in the morning.

Well, the fun thing about waterbeds is that they are HEAVY fully-filled. AFter getting Mom (and getting chewed out for waiting until mid-afternoon to do so), we decided to drain the bed. It took me two hours to realize the pump we had wasn't working, perhaps because it required a faucet to create a vacuum and the only one that fit the adaptor was upstairs. So we had to siphon it out the old fashioned-way -- waterbed conditioner tastes nasty, by the way. It did take us less than an hour to fix the bed and refill it, though. But I did miss the drawing I was supposed to have done. Insert annoyance here.

Could have been worse, though -- the only water I pilled was a bit on the floor and aroudn the bag. If the bag had leaked, it would ahev been all that fun plus finding the hole plus cleaning up large quantities of water.
