I did it again...

Between my Halloween costume*, my normal art commitments, and helping with fantasy_bigbang, I completely burned my free time in the last weeks of October. Which means I am seriously contemplating skipping NaNo for a second year because trying to live on a NaNo schedule for another month will probably reduce me to a mess in time for Christmas.

I'm contemplating switching to what mekosuchinae is doing as her NaNo-alternative, which is Drabble-vember! 30 days, 30 stories, no waiting! That plus the goal of Finish my Damn Journal Article will do.

(I'm reminded of an anime character. The Male Lead's Mentor once mentioned to the Female Lead that he nicknamed the Male Lead's Ex as 'Swan', not just because she was a pretty woman, but because she always looked so graceful... but under the surface, she was paddling like hell. Sometimes I feel like that. Considering the character in question later joined a terrorist group in the name of protesting the economic unfairness of the current space treaties, I... probably won't end up like that. But, anyway...)

I really want to go home and write something. Instead I have a seminar on the Missing Satellite Problem, an Important Meeting for anime club* and epaulets to make.

Well, and some roleplaying stuff to do, and ag_over_18's weekly Fugly Friday voice chat.

* In which I will advocate for anime series to show in the spring. I think I only nominated Spice and Wolf and Prétear***, but the Utena might mean that anything else at all magical girl might get voted down on principle**.

** This never seems to stop the mecha fanboys from getting at least a series and an OAV.

*** I stuck to 13-episodes or fewer, since doubling up episodes usually isn't too popular, so I save all my 26-episode shows for fall semester nominations. And new Slayers may be two 13-episode series but it really works better as one year's showing.
