It's amazing the difference time and venting can make. I'm a lot better off than I was over the weekend. Part of it was that Prospective Future Adviser got back to me and was all like 'here are 11 things you need to do, but this looks good' and also 'you totally should submit this for July and not for November, because we got more spots for July' and I am a sucker for praise. I'm about halfway down the list of things he suggested, though a couple are more nebulous than 'you misread this in a paper'.

But it's also starting to do better at taking care of myself. I've been living on carbs because cereal/sandwiches/crackers are easy, and this is not good for me*. Also, sleeping a lot, not going for regular walks or outdoors and generally being a ball of stress. Or cleaning/doing dishes, which really limits my ability to cook.

So, the last couple of days I have been starting to do those things and I feel much better. Heck, after work I was amazed how open my evening seemed even though I still was on my normal routine. Sort of the opposite -- instead of 'time flies when you're having fun', it's 'when you don't have to worry about deadlines, an evening seems to be so big'.

Well, back to work.

* As in, I'm constantly hungry without wanting to eat anything, and generally feel like crap. Except the time I went out for Indian food where I felt good for the afternoon then crappy for two days as I remembered that my digestive system seems to think 'ignore the spicy chemicals, so they can make it feel like someone laced your toilet paper with capsaicin' is a valid process for dealing with spicy food. Sadface, since there's a place on campus that does nice Indian food twice a week.
