Feb. 15th, 2004 11:30 pmWell, today is the first day of Intermural soccer and the Society of Physics Students has a team. We lost 3-6 -- but this year we had enough people to have subs -- since the rules say we have to have no more than three males on the field, so the women often got a lot mroe play than the men.
I got my conlang relay assignment. Basically a conlang relay is like a combination game of telephone and attempt to decipher Hong Kong subtitles. Everyone in the relay has their own constructed language (conlang) -- though we do have people using well-known ones like Klingon and Esperanto. A message is given to the first person in English, who puts it into his conlang. He then sends the message and a guide to vocab and grammar to the next person who translates it then puts it into his conlang. And so on. It's said that every message will end up a creation story by the end.
