Reflections on a Star Wars Character
Apr. 21st, 2004 02:15 pmI just realized that Mel'qi It'il, the sorta-PC I have for my Star Wars game, reeks of stereotypical weak white mage. She's a member of a species that had its homeworld destroyed over 100 years from when the game is set. She's a Jedi healer, and really can't do much else -- some basic lightsaber skills, and some empathy. Oh, and she can make plants grow. She's young, female, painfully naive, and overenthusiastically obidient. She's a coward in fights -- about all she will do is defend or heal. She was basically assinged to the party to keep them alive -- I'm not very good at judging how hard to make foes, and after the first session, I tend to go about 1.5 times as hard as I thing they can face.
She's hella fun to play though -- like the time the group deicded to fake going rogue and she decided to dress up as what she thought a Dark Jedi looked like, mostly involving coloring her fur black and silver and looking like she bought the entire contents of Hot Topic, then asking if this looked alright in a nervous voice. I really can't do much with her, because I'm GMing -- which is as it should be. Most of the time it's easiest to let the othe Jedi tell her what to do, and she does it.
But, personally, I think she's going to snap someday and get scary.
