Okay, so I recently joined a community called

ithurtsmybrain, which basically challenges writers to write crossover romance fics with a pairing generated randomly off of a long list. The list is generated by polling members and asking them fandom-related questions... the current batch included your favorite character to write, a character you never want to ship with anyone, ever, a character from your childhood, and so on. I, of course, trying to balance the anime fans, submitted mostly Slayers characters.
Today the list came out. I was of course giggling at the list, and the modd's snarky comments -- mostly of the eyesporking variety when things came up, and hoping I could find a pairing for which I could write both characters. Then I found out where one of my answers landed:
