This is the first time I have been able to use the word hentai in a school report. And it has nothing to do with fandom, sex or anythign above a G rating. The report is on the History of the Japanese Written Language and one of the 'steps' is a Chinese with Japanese-ish stuff thrown in -- anything from Chinese with Japanese name suffixes to Japanese spelled out in Chinese characters used for their phonetic value -- called hentai kanbun.
