Con Report
Sep. 20th, 2004 05:56 pmWell, we drove up on Thursday. Things went well -- the fact AnimeIowa was in Des Moines, and not Cedar Rapids, helped muchly.
Friday, was a decent day. I dressed as Chichiri, and nearly left my staff many places. I also got into the Art Show. Yay! I went to a panel on Photoshop -- which showed me I probably need to reletter my comic, asI tend to pack way too much dialogue on pages. On the plus side, I learned how to use Illistrator to do so. I also went to the Dealers' Room and bought two posters (Lost Universe and Escsaflowne), a Slayers artbook, and a Lina doll. Oh, and a Sailor Mercury keychain. I tried to bid on a few pictures at theArt Show, but was outbid. I also went to the Art Kam, and got a henna tatoo and a lot of drawing done. And many compliments on my colored pencil techniques.
On Saturday, I dressed as Zelgadis, which meant I had to budget an extra fiv minutes for pictures goign anywhere. Which was about the same for Chichiri, actually -- Chichiri had fewer pictures, but more trouble getting the staff up the stairs. Elevators were a nightmare at the con. I sat through the AMV contest -- nothing really stellar, wish
After that, I skipped hte cosplay to hang out at Crisi and
On Sunday, I went to the Advanced Fancel Workshop and now have a half-finished Alri cel in my room. I skipped the Art Auction to help Cassie check us out -- two of my pieces -- Celestial Sunrise and Dust to Dust were sold, but not at Auction. UC and I then went to the Webcomic panel, where she got an autograph from the guys who do Van Von Hunter. After that, we drove home and got our first real meal -- yay! Thai food! -- in three days.
