And now I dead from language...
Oct. 12th, 2004 07:18 pmSo, I'm doing some translation work in Darynese, the first language I've made up. And, I had to look up a pronoun (Darynese has a shit ton of them -- about 50 at last count, and that doens't count making posessives and direct objects (as those are regular, unlike English)) Then I noticed that the Darynese masculine adult 3rd person singular pronoun (read: he, but only used to apply to an adult) is yaomi, only one letter away from 'yaoi'.
Tried it for my female pronouns, but the closest I could come was using the juvenille female 3rd person singular, (she, but only used to refer to children) yumi.
Considering the Darynese conculture is one of the most straightlaced and conservative ones I've created, this amuses me to no end.
