ASTR 403: Galactic Astronomy -- Tues/Thurs 2-3:15
MATH 417: Intro to Modern Algebra I -- Mon/Wed/Fri 2:30-3:20
MATH 423: Intro to Complex Variables -- Tues/Thurs 9:30-10:45
PHYS 399H: Honors Thesis -- date and time to be arranged by me

For the record, the only reason I am taking Modern Algebra is because I need a 400-level Integrated Studies course to graduate, and that is the only one I can fit in my schedule for either of my majors. I last had a taste of Modern Algebra my sophmore year, and not only did it reduce me to tears on more than one ocassion, and make me spend an hour in my professor's office each week with homework questions, in additon to the time I spent trying the homework before hand, it was the one course that made me want to drop the Math major -- and I probably would have, had I not manage to somehow pull an A- out of that class and later heard from the Undergraduate Advisor that the professor was really impressed with me -- I think he said somehting along the lines of I didn't always get the right answer, but I usually was a very creative and innovative student.

Don't get me wrong, I think that course my sophmore year was a valuable learning experience -- if not for the Modern Algebra, for the experience of having to struggle at something, work hard and have this overhanging fear of failure and worry that maybe this one time my reach woudl exceed my grasp. That doens't mean I want to do it again. Alas, sometimes what we want to do is not the same as what we have to do. I will have to dig up my old textbook and review it.

At least next semester is only a 12-credit-hour load, which will give me time to relax and work on my thesis. But not at the same time.
