I actually got some writing done last night -- about three handwritten pages on The End Is Only the Beginning. I stated at my untitled FY fic for a while, but I didn't get a chance to work on it. I also managed to finish my CMAX picture. Only a month late.

I got most of the paperwork filed out today, except for my temporary school ID -- seems the Physics Department didn't tell the ID office we were heading over, because the secretary thought it would be later today. Yes, lovely. But, once I get my ID, I can get lunch... and an ethernet cable. Hooray!

BTW, Lynn, Jennie... what the hell is going on with you guys? I leave for a few days and I get weird cryptic posts on my friends list. The things I miss by being out of state.

Some obvious differences to UNL's Dorm Life have come to my attention.

First of all, the ID cards. In addition to using it for access to cafeteria food, Union purchases, computer lab access and the general ability to prove yes, you ARE a student and/or employee of the University, UWyo cards are also required to do laundry on campus and get into the dorms. Now, the laundry thing I don't mind -- instead of a stop at the Front Desk to get quarters, I have to make a stop to add money to my account for laundry. And, hey, I can use the spare moeny for non-food Union purchases. The dorm thing... well, I might not mind, if my card had been keyed to my dorm. As is, I have to ring the front desk every time I'm not with Kim-roommate.

Then there's the room doors. Tehy have a combination llock, which I do like, once I learned the right combination from the roommate. One less key to keep track of, and no chance of me locking myself out of the room when I go to visit the bathroom.

The Burning Dumpster's Department of Bad RPG Profiles.

AKA a guide of what not to do in a freeform RPG. Well, or how to annoy the mods by guving your characters vague backgrounds that let you pull things out of your ass, obviously rule-breaking or setting-inappropriate things, and the art of putting the powers of an entire anime/video game cast into one body. Plus, two people who think they can import anime characters as-are into other games and get away with it.

This is where I got many of the rules for SoC (well, this and [livejournal.com profile] bad_rpers_suck. Like the one about fully filling out your History, even if half of it is GM-eyes-only.

Damn it...

Sometime I woudl like to turn some of the worldbuilding work I've been doing for my webcomic into a writing project -- maybe metaconcepting the cultures into a fantays story. I just have no ideas. Boo.
