I just realized that there's no way I'll be able to get a copy of Dzur before I go on vacation, since it comes out on the 8th of August, I leave on the 10th, and I doubt Amazon will be as good as they were for Harry Potter. (If I'm wrong, please tell me -- I want my fix of Vlad Taltos, and the Dragaera mailing list is gonna explode... I better put myself on Digest mode or something).

Debating on the iPod matter -- not having one is slowly bugging me. Yes, I'm a music addict -- I can do some thinking/plotting as I walk, but I prefer having music.

I'm slowly running out of Kenshin to buy (I'm only 10 volumes from the end, and I'm not sure if the bookstore has them all), and all my other series (Hellsing, Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach) are bought when they come out. Anyone want to pass on a few other manga titles that I need to read? I can happily tell you if I've read them.

I just spent most of July (and the last bit of June) working on a possible solution to a programming problem that is apparently not a problem. And it still doesn't explain why I'm getting the wrong numbers.

There's an interview with Doctor Ben Barres, a neurobiologist at Stanford on the different treatment of men and women in science. He has an interesting perspective, so you folks might want to check it out. ^_^

Dismissing ‘Sexist Opinions’ About Women’s Place in Science

ETA: There's also an essay in Nature (aka Big Name Peer-Reviewed Science Journal) on whether the gender gap in science is due to innate differences between men and women or a still-unequal playing field.
