(no subject)

Because my life needs more things to make me crazy, I have both the annual planetary science conference and a move* this month. So as soon as I get home, I have to (finish) packing and find someone to help me haul 8 trash bags of clothing (and probably an equal volume of books, and some broken electronics) to places that are not my dumpster.

Don't live in a place for 8 years and then refuse to go through your stuff for things that don't fit, under some idea that you might wear them again. It means you need a pickup truck to get them to Goodwill.

(Incidentally, if any one is in the market for American Girl dolls, I have a few I'm selling because I don't really want to haul them across the country and I'm not that attached to them. I'll probably throw up a post in a couple of days on the doll collecting communities.)

I'll try to blog a bit about the conference, since astronomy is cool. I can't tell if I need a placard that says 'will science for rent money' or one that says 'don't ask me about my employment status'. Maybe the former for employers and the latter for friends/former professors.

* Since I'm no longer getting paid to stay in Ithaca, I found someone to sublet my apartment and am returning to Nebraska until I can find a job.
