Dear Student,
'God made it that way' is not a good answer to a question asking why the far side of the moon is different from the near side. Especially when the point of the question is for you to think of a testable explanation -- believe me, if scientists thought they could settle the God question by science, they would be doing it (because who ever did would be hella famous and scientist are human, thus many of us would like to be famous). Double especially when you tell me that God put more maria on the far side, which I can disprove -- there are not more maria on the far side of the moon.
This is a very good reason to not invoke omnipotent beings in a field where the person you are talking to knows more than you. When you mess up, you make your religion look rather silly.
