Okay, I was browsing the message boards at Guardians of Order's home page. Someone had asked how to model a clairvoyance spell using Tri-stat DX. Someone else posted a whole "Well, in the real world, magic is related to psionics, and it's nothing like D&D and there's no way you could focus in on a specific event from far away, and I know because I have family who are psychics. You should read these books in order to play a psi/mage."
Ya know, Person #2, that's nice. I've got a few friends who follow the whole psychic-magic thing. It's really interesting. However, when these friends GM/game, they have no qualms about using a COMPLETELY 'UNREALISTIC' magic system (like Palladium's or BESM's). Why? Because it's fun. If my crystal-being Ley Line Walker can punch a hole in a tank and carries around an energy rifle, why should the GM care if my character's magic lets him fireball something, rather than do vague tricks with probability and auras?
Honestly, if you're gonna post, answer the question.
I know some of said friends read this journal -- am I off the wall here?
