Wow... who knew that eliminating invite codes would cause such a ruckus?
Personally, I think it's a good idea... it took me nearly a year between finding out about LJ to actually getting one.
Oh, to friends and suhc, if you haven't already, I suggest generating codes now... they are talking about redeeming them for paid time (for yourself or others)
