Me: Someone posts a "December 17, 2003 -- Legolas DIES" thread to an icon community.
yuuo: ::nodnod:: I do remember seeing an icon about Legolas dying just to piss off fangirls running about.
Me: Best part was Kim's reaction when I mentioned the thread to her "And, I can't blame them. Book-Legolas doesn't die."
yuuo: I don't get the whole kerfluffle. ::shrugs:: I don't know if he dies or not.
Me: He doesn't
Me: He sails off into the West with Gimli.
yuuo: .......with Gimli.
yuuo: ::dies:
Me: I kid you not!
yuuo: ::just dies::
Me: *is rolling on the floor laughing*
"We have heard tell that Legolas took Gimli Gloin's son with him because of their great friendship, gretaher than that of any that has been between Elf and Dwarf. If this is true, then it is strange indeed: that a Dwarf should be willing to leave Middle-earth for any love, or that the Eldar should recieve him, or that the Lords of the West should permit it. But it is said that Gimli went also out of desire to see again the beauty of Galadriel; and it may be that she, being mighty among the Eldar, obtained this grace for him. More cannot be said of this matter." -- Lord of the Rings, Appendix A, Part III: Durin's Folk.
