So, State Legislator Ernie Chambers is known for being a bit out there when it comes to publicity. (Seriously, I'm pretty sure when people were asked why they supported term limits, half of them said Ernie Chambers. On the other hand, his district loves him.) He decides to sue God to prevent Acts of God. The judge threw it out, arguing that God doesn't have a fixed address and Rep. Chambers and the court has no direct way to access God reliably. (Chambers points out that God is omniscient, so if the court recognizes that such a being exists, then obviously God must know about the lawsuit.)
Realistically, this is an attention-grabbing stunt*, but...

* Chambers pretty much admits that he's just trying to prove that anyone can sue anyone, even God. Except... the court isn't letting him sue God. Granted, they have to have a judge look at it, but I imagine they have to have a judge look at anything just to see if the case has merit.
