Our Heroes
Shakudo: My character. A Goron smith, sent on an errand down the mountain for the Hyrule Royal Family, and discovering that his destiny lies at something other than mastering his craft.
Angela: Cousin to the current Princess Zelda, via a younger sibling that married into a neighboring kingdoms’s royal family. The (emergency backup?) Hero, as she is able to wield the Master Sword.
Blade: A Sheikah warrior and Sage of the Wind.
Nat: A Hylian adopted as the daughter of the Great Fairies, inheriting much of their magic.
Oban: This generation’s male Gerudo, a wizard dealing with the stigma of a certain prior male Gerudo.
Events Thus Far
Our Heroes have a number of problems. Least of which is that Hyrule is being invaded by the nation of Sephira, beyond the Gerudo Desert, and Princess Zelda is running the war effort from Akkala. The Twili are making inroads to the Light World, as overflow from a civil war. A mysterious sorcerer, Astor, used turmoil in the Zola Court to take control of their monarch, and cause trouble. An unknown swordsperson named Ghirahim nearly killed our characters in the Forest Temple. And, of course, signs are that the Great Evil might be rising again, with Our Heroes tapped by the Goddesses to stop it. They have the Master Sword, and someone able to wield it, and leads on the Triforce shards, but between those and the other problems, it's an open question if they can make progress.

Queen Midna clarified some of the Twili politics as the party asked question. The Twili choose which member of the Royal Family becomes the ruler using an ancient relic. Her cousin, Zelantra (who we knew as the Repented) was bitter she was not chosen; Midna did appoint her to a position of power… which she then exploited to have Midna declared mad and grab power for herself.
The evidence was that Midna had wanted a pardon from the Kingdom of Hyrule for the Twili, even if they could not return to the Light World for long periods. Midna had made it clear that she was not going to accept a ‘no’, which Zelantra used as proof of Midna’s madness. Meanwhile, Zelantra is starting conflict with Hyrule by forging Midna’s orders in hopes that she causes enough trouble to stay in power as the regent for the Mad Queen. Midna had few allies, but one, Solaris, was a magic user who could get her to the Light World for short periods.
Blade agrees to arrange a meeting with someone official within Hyrule (not Zelda herself), and in return, Midna offers what she can to aid the party by giving a Shadow Crystal to them. The party also arranges a passphrase with her, just in case they can’t meet directly.
Midna returns to the Twilit Realm, and the party offers to use the remaining hours of daylight to head towards Lurelin Village so Marin doesn’t have to put them up for the night. When the party camps that night, Oban is woken from a dead slumber as he hears something. The party sees Hollows — shadow-copies of people that they last saw as the magical constructs of the sorcerer Astor, who had been manipulating the Zola Queen.
While the party fought the hollows, Blade located Astor hiding in a tree, and the party were able to take him down… unfortunately before Astor died, he was teleported away by Ghirahim. The party had met Ghirahim before, in the Forest Temple, and only the power of the last Kokiri (Mido) as the current Forest Sage kept them living after Ghirahim left them for dead after toying with them for a bit. Ghirahim is done messing around, and attacks the party.
Unfortunately, we paused midway through the fight, so I can’t tell you how this wraps up. Are Our Heroes doomed, or have they grown in power enough to take on the mysterious Ghirahim? Or will they get lucky once again in their choice of allies? Let’s find out next time.
