beccastareyesDay 20 - The "can't stand the sexual tension anymore" pairing? Jinto/Lafiel
Hey, pairing from obscure anime! Or maybe not, since when I played Lafiel in a RPG, everyone was like OMG, Lafiel! but there's almost no fanworks for it.
Anyway, I mention Jinto and Lafiel yesterday in my CotS post. He's from a backwater planet, suddenly the heir to a duke of the Abh Empire. She's a Abh princess just entering the military who was assigned to get him out of a war zone. They fight crime! Lafiel saves Jinto from a rebellious anti-Terran baron that locks him up and entertains thoughts of seducing Lafiel. Jinto helps Lafiel blend in when they crash on an occupied planet, since she's literally never set foot on a planet before that.
Needless to say they develop a rapport. Lafiel appreciates someone who doesn't treat her as a potential future empress*. And, while Lafiel tended to tell Jinto when he's being dumb, she also was willing to answer his questions and treat him like he's Abh nobility, not a Terran in a costume. Plus... well, you take someone through a war zone, you get attached. The two are clearly friends, and Lafiel also lets down her guard around Jinto far more -- it's even said that members of her family aren't supposed to show sentiment for individuals since they are the face of the Empire and needs of the many, and so on, but Lafiel is willing to cry when she thinks Jinto is dead.
Granted, there would be hurdles, since Lafiel is Jinto's CO, and Jinto may or may not be used to Abh culture -- the Abh can have long-term relationships, romances and flings, but they don't do marriage as prerequisite to starting a family.
But, seriously... everyone thinks they're doin it.
* The Abh succession does depend on bloodline in that only folks from Lafiel's extended family can rule, but also requires approval of the previous ruler. It's also usually custom for rulers to step down once they feel their heir is ready to take the throne, so former emperors can advise the current ruler.
