More 'completely apathetic' about. It kind of flew under the radar until Harry got his love life figured out, then I started thinking about it.
One thing I like is the fact Ginny, once she gets past her crush, doesn't take shit from people. There's a scene where Harry, in the middle of Order of the Phoenix, is freaking out about 'what if Voldemort is trying to possess me', and Ginny's all... 'Been there, done that, here's what to look for', while Ron and Hermione aren't sure how to deal with it.
That being said, Harry was a bit of a dip in the end of HBP, with the whole 'I am going to go do something dangerous, so I don't want to continue the relationship so you won't be hurt by my possible death'. That never works, you know.
I'm also sad that a lot of the neat things Ginny does are offscreen -- we don't see her much between the end of book 2 and maybe 4 or 5, and her actions in book 7 are mostly narrated to us after the fact. One of the limitations to Rowling's decision to make her series limited third-person, with a few exceptions (books 4-7 have opening chapters in other POVs), is that if Harry isn't around, we only get information second-hand. Which means if Ginny is, say, recovering from being Tom Riddle's mind-slave or leading the Hogwarts resistance while Harry is tracking down Sirius Black or destroying horcruces, we don't get much detail on Ginny.
